The South Philadelphia Taproom has been transformed from a forgotten corner property to a South Philly staple. As one of our first commercial projects, the South Philadelphia Taproom is part of the spark that started the Newbold neighborhood in 2003.
With 14 beers on tap in constant rotation, an enormous bottle selection, and a unique food menu, SPTR now stands as a neighborhood landmark. For over a decade, the bar has been attracting a diverse local crowd, becoming a gathering point for the neighborhood.
The South Philadelphia Taproom has been ranked #4 on the 2014 Foobooz list of 50 Best Bars of Philadelphia.
"Few gastropubs have shown the magnetic power of a great beer list quite as much as the Taproom since developer John Longacre opened it in 2003 as the city's southernmost beer pole. Its 14 fresh taps and 70-bottle list are enough to draw beer fans from far and wide." - Craig LaBan
