Food Network names American Sardine Bar among “The 40 Best Bars in America for Food Lovers”
Leave those basic burgers and no-frills fries behind at these watering holes where you can slake your thirst without sacrificing your appetite.
Most swim to American Sardine Bar for the small but well-curated craft beer list that touches on almost every style of suds. But the name of the bar is a clue that there’s some food as well, namely sardines prepared four ways: sauteed, grilled, a la plancha or fried. (If you count sardines on a sandwich, the number rounds up to five.) The small but flavorful fish go great with a cold saison.

11th Annual Wheat Beer Fest

SPTR’s Wheat Beer Fest will be THE summer-kick off party – expect $3 wheat beers all day long, live music, Philly’s finest food trucks, special guests and Chef Doreen Demarco on the grill, all at the Point Breeze Pop-Up.
Expect 40+ wheat beers at Wheat Beer Fest, including a few very new and very limited releases, like Victory Frische Weisse, Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat and Neshaminy Creek Cranberry Wit. We’ll of course have Witbiers, Hefeweizens, Saisons, Berliner Weisses, White IPAs and more from your favorite breweries. Jack’s Hard Cider is bringing their locally-made cider, which is always gluten free. Check out the full list of beers below.
This year’s Fest will have the biggest concert yet! We’re looking forward to a great performance by Philly’s own homegrown stars – Marah, as well as crowd favorite the New Sound Brass Band and one very special surprise guest.
You definitely won’t walk away hungry – Wheat Beer Fest attendees can grab grub from great Philly food trucks. We’ll have awesome pizza-fusion from Bombay Local, Brazilian street food from BrazBQ, and on-the- spot made empanadas from Viva Empanada.
Admission to the party is free and all food and beer is P.A.Y.G.

The Point Breeze Pop-Up is kicking off their second season with THE summer kick off party – the 11th Annual Wheat Beer Fest! Join us on Saturday, May 21 for a day of $3 wheat beers (all day long), live music, Philly’s finest food trucks and an overall great time hanging out with friends and neighbors.
